Ever dreamed of having brunch with a complementary mimosa as you view the city that never sleeps? If you’ve answered yes, then stay tuned because I have just the place for you!
The Upstairs. The Upstairs is an all season rooftop that offers not only brunch but also a lounge spot. Since I went for brunch, I can’t tell you much about the lounge menu or atmosphere but I can tell you how great of a brunch spot this is. The brunch menu ranges from savory meals such as salmon nicoise to simply sweet meals such as delicious buttermilk waffles. I, of course, went for the simply sweet buttermilk waffle and let me tell you, it was delicious. The waffle entree came with berries toppled over it, powdered sugar, a vanilla whipped cream and maple syrup on the side. The overall waffle was amazing but that vanilla whipped cream was truly something else.
I would recommend this place for anyone who is visiting the city and looking for a nicely decorated rooftop to sit, eat and enjoy the view.
In case you’re wondering just how lovely the view is, this was my exact view of the Chrysler building as I ate my scrumptious waffle. (Please ignore my reflection in the window, it was very difficult to get a picture without a reflection.)
Overall, this place is highly recommended for a chic brunch with great friends and a great view.
