Get To Know: Angela

Happy Wednesday everyone! Are we all wearing pink? Mean Girls reference. Today I am here again to share with you another blogger in this Get To know series! As most of you know, I will be casually interviewing bloggers to get to know them a bit better and to spread their blogs as well!

Today’s guest is Angela from Life of Angela. To be honest, Angela is the very first person to go out of her way to contact ME! Yes, that’s right, usually for these posts I am the one reaching out to people trying to find people that are willing and interested in participating in my Get To Know series however this special guest reached out to me which is amazing! Angela is a happily married blogger that shares her experiences, travels and life. Let’s get to know Angela a little bit more!

Favorites:

Favorite scent?
When you walk into stores like Lush or The Body Shop. You know that smell? The fruity, soapy smell. I love that.
Favorite dessert?
Cheesecake! (followed closely by cupcakes, and  cakes in general)
Favorite meal?
Pancakes
Favorite way to spend a Sunday evening?
Hanging out at home with Rory
Favorite way to spend a rainy day?
Hiding under blankets at home, playing games on my laptop

This or That:

Dogs or cats?
Both. I can’t choose between them. They’re all cute.
Comfy day in or a long hike?
Most of the time, comfy day in. But if you catch me in the right mood or mindset, I’d love to go for a hike.
Books or films?
Films. I love books, but getting through a film is faster.
Makeup or no makeup?
Little bit of makeup. It’s just fun to play with, even if I don’t know what I’m doing.
Long hair or short hair?
Long hair

Would You Rather:

Would you rather have a superpower that would go off at any moment with your control or have no superpowers at all? 
Yikes. That sounds worrying. I’d be a nervous wreck with that first one, I’ll go no superpowers at all.
Would you rather travel the world but never be able to take photos of your experiences or travel only to a few places and be able to capture them with photos? 
I’ve only currently travelled to a few places, and taken lots of photos. So I’ll go with that. I find taking photos of where I travel too much fun to stop.

Simple Questions: 

What is your favorite place that you have visited?
Peru. I love my latest trip to Fiji, but Peru was just another experience altogether. Plus Machu Picchu is incredible!
What your favorite blog posts to write?
I love doing the tag/award ones. It’s so much fun to answer questions that other bloggers have asked. It’s partly why I wanted to take part in this one XD
How long have you been blogging?
Since the beginning of March, so not that long.
What do you like about blogging and the blogging community?
I’ve always loved writing, which is why I like blogging. I like how supportive and encouraging everyone is in the community. We’re all so passionate with what we’re blogging about, whether we blog everyday, or a couple of times a month, it’s always fun to come online and see what everyone has been up to.

Let’s Get A Deeper Connection:

What is the best life decision you’ve made so far?
To go back into study to do a graduate course in teaching. After I graduated with my bachelors of Music, I didn’t know what to do. I did random office jobs for a year, but I didn’t want to stay in that field. Through piano tutoring, I realized that I loved teaching. So I went back into studying, became a poor student again, and now I’m in the best job I’ve ever had 🙂 And also, marrying Rory. Both big decisions that I was more than happy to make.
What piece of advice would you give your younger self?
Stop overthinking everything. I would always second guess myself in everything I did, and while I did make some odd decisions in places, everything turns out okay. Don’t put so much energy into fretting over things that aren’t in your control.
If you could change one thing from your past, would you?
See, I’ve watched/read many things that say this is a bad idea. Everything that happened, happens for a reason right? There’s been some dark moments growing up, but all the positive outnumbers it. Past me got through that, and helped shape who I am today. Someone equipped to deal with sadness/rejection/failure, and can move past it.
What quote or quotes do you live by?
I read Yes Please by Amy Poehler a few years back. I really liked her quote “Good for her, not for me”. Especially as a teenager, I would find myself passing judgement on people I barely knew, particularly with fashion/lifestyle choices. Just cause you don’t agree with something, doesn’t mean that you should be negative about it. It’s just not something I would do, but good for them. I aim to be positive. Which brings me to my other quote, by Maya Angelou. “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
