The Desert Island Discs Tag

Thank you so very much to Katlyn from Everything Under the Sun for nominating me for the Desert Island Discs Blog Tag! Prior to Katlyn I had never heard of this tag before but it seems really fun and cool!

Here’s how it works:

  • Link back to the original post (BookBum’s)
  • Thank the person(s) who tagged you
  • Come up with your answers
  • Then tag others to keep the tag going!

Premise of Desert Island Discs:

You are cast away onto a remote island:

  • You can bring 5 albums, what are they?
  • You can bring ONE book (not including The Bible (or other appropriate religious texts) or The Complete Works of Shakespeare, as they are already provided and NO SERIES), what ONE book is it?
  • You can have one luxury item (it has to be inanimate and can’t help you escape the island), what is it?

Album 1: Divide – Ed Sheeran 

Ed Sheeran’s album Divide came out March 3, 2017 and I have been listening to it nonstop! I simply love Ed Sheeran’s voice and songs so I’m not too shocked that this was my very first choice.

Album 2: Made In The A.M. – One Direction

How could I not take a bit of One Direction?! I was a big fan the second they came out so I would definitely have to take them along with me for this desert trip.

Album 3: Unbreakable Smile – Tori Kelly

I love Tori Kelly’s voice because it is so raw and so incredible! I would definitely have to take her along with me so I could jam out to Unbreakable Smile, Dear No One and many others.

Album 4: Mind of Mine – Zayn 

Zayn’s first album by himself! I just can’t resist because this album has some very good vibes.

Album 5: X (Wembley Edition) – Ed Sheeran

You know, all of my albums  would honestly be Ed Sheeran however I figured I should change things up in between! I decided to also take one more Ed Sheeran album because he is simply amazing!

Book: Girl Online by Zoe Sugg

I’ve raved and raved about her books and I will continue to rave about them because they are modern and so easy to read.

Luxury Item: 

I was just about to say that I would take my laptop so that I could still blog but I just realized that I probably won’t have internet on this desert island so therefore I would like to take my camera instead.

  1. First of all congratulations and thank you for nominating me! I love Ed’s new album. ‘Galway girl’ is my favorite song at the moment.
    One direction! Such a big fan and I love all their albums and I do miss them a lot!
    The ‘Girl online’ series is amazing, I love all the books of Zoe.
    I loved that you wanted to take your laptop with you 😉

    1. Thank you so very much and you’re very welcome for nominating you :)! I’ve been LOVING the Ed Sheeran album, I kid you not I’ll play it on repeat for hours! Galway Girl is so great! I also really like Barcelona because it’s so upbeat, I mean I like them all but I do love how upbeat Barcelona is. I too miss One Direction and their music but I am excited to see what they can produce solo. You’ve read Girl Online?! I love her books! I want a fourth book so badly! Most definitely wanted to bring my laptop because it would be great to be able to blog my adventures on the Island but then I realized I probably wouldn’t have internet haha! Can’t wait to see your answers, thanks for coming by 🙂

      1. I love the girl online series so much! First I wasn’t sure when the first book came out, but wow! Zoe is so so talented and I want another book for so bad!
        Yeah, I can’t wait to see what they are doing next. Pretty exciting.
        I like your idea with blogging there, I probably would have answered the same. But then I thought I maybe run out of ideas… no pinterest to get inspired from 😉

  6. This is such a unique idea, I had never heard of this either! And yes to the Ed Sheeran music! I haven’t heard all of his new album yet, I’ve just heard a couple songs but I really love it and I totally agree, I feel like sitting on the beach and listening to Ed and letting the time pass wouldn’t even be that bad! Great post and a great tag/idea.

      1. I’ve only heard Shape of You and Nancy Mulligan and I love Nancy Mulligan but yes I need to! Which is the best one to listen to first??

      2. ALL OF THEM! hehe no but seriously I would say it depends on your mood, I’ve broken it down which you should listen to next based on upbeat and slow.
        Upbeat: Barcelona, What Do I Know?, New Man
        Slow: Happier, Dive, and How Would You Feel?
