I was reading Zoe’s latest book Girl Online Going Solo and I came across this quote and fell in love with it! It couldn’t be truer. In life we are all on a path to succeed and the most important thing we can do is focus on our personal lanes to get to the top. We should never and I mean never, compare someone else’s success to our success or lack there of. If we haven’t reached as high as someone else, it doesn’t matter; we will get there. The important thing we need to remember is that we need to focus on ourselves in order to get to the top and not on someone standing next to us.

Good ol’ Dr. Seuss is such a legend. The truth of the matter is that life is too short to live it for others and therefore the best thing you can do as you live is to say what you want and to be the best you possible. If anyone has anything negative to say, you can ignore them because they do not matter; those who matter are those who accept you, every part of you.

Everyone goes through hardships in life and staying positive during those rough times can be very, if not extremely difficult. The best thing to do in a bad situation is to remind yourself that it will pass, that better days are waiting. Think back to the last time you were in such a rut you thought you’d never be able to smile again yet alone laugh and look at you now, you got through it didn’t you? You’re able to smile and laugh now and it’s as if hardships never even occurred. Hardships come and hardships go, better days will come, stay strong.

    I first heard it when I was watching the film ‘The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’ and I think about it all the time. It really inspires me to keep on pushing even when things get difficult, much like the final quote you mentioned.
