So, the amazingly stunning Angela from Life of Angela once told me that she would love to see what I get up to on a day to day basis. I thought this was such a wonderful idea that I quickly began thinking…what exactly are my days like? I soon came to discover that my days vary depending on if I’m working or not, if it’s the weekend or if it’s summer time, which it is currently. I decided I would do several posts on what my day is like depending on different circumstances; the first circumstance being if I have work.
So some of you know that I am a substitute, mainly I substitute at a high school. I’ve shared tons of stories and experiences from being substitute so if you haven’t checked those out, you’re seriously missing out on a good laugh. Below I have broken down my day by hours.
6:00 am – Wake up to either my alarm or to the substitute lady calling asking me to go in.
6-6:20 am – Stretch in bed, go on my phone to check out my Instagram, Twitter, WordPress and Snapchat. Sad but true, I do this every morning.
6:20 – 6:30 am– Cuddle up with Riley because she is the softest and best dog in the world and then get up to put her out and feed her.
6:30 – 7 am – Eat my breakfast and pack a lunch for work, typically I pack salads or if I have tasty leftovers I will pack those. I also like to pack granola bars and fruits such as apples, strawberries, kiwi or watermelon. Here I always pack at least two waters for the day.
7-7:30 am – Rush around to pick an outfit out if I haven’t already got on in mind, do my hair (sometimes), brush my teeth, do my makeup and take my vitamins.
7:30 – 7:40 am – Make a coffee or tea to take to work, pick out my workout clothes for after work and leave for work.
7:50 am – 2:35 pm – Work either actually teaching students or lounging around babysitting, depending on the day and what the teacher has left me to do.
2:40 – 3pm – Have a snack because a salad just can’t hold me over for long and I need to eat by the time I get home. When I get home I’ll have either a yogurt or an apple, something small before a workout.
3 – 4:00pm – Truthfully, my workouts vary depending on the day and my energy level. Some of my workouts last 30 minutes, other days where I feel like I can keep going I go for 45 minutes to an hour. On days where students have really pissed me off I may do some yoga to calm me down and relax or I’ll push myself extra hard in a regular workout to really relieve some stress.
4pm – Feed Riley because she eats at four everyday and have my after workout snack which is typically something packed with protein to help my muscle soreness and give me energy.
4 – 4:30 pm – Take a shower and watch some YouTube videos, go on WordPress and check out some blogs.
4:30 – 5:30 pm – Prep for dinner, cook dinner, eat dinner and continue to go on WordPress. (I spend far too much time on WordPress)
5:30 – 6pm – Continue to check out some blogs and maybe even work on my own blogs or check out some clothes online.
6 – 10pm – Typically this is the time I spend with my boyfriend either playing Mario Kart, watching films, watching shows, playing games, walking our dogs or going around to places together.
10 pm – I try to go home from my boyfriend’s at 10 or he usually leaves around this time as well. I try to fall asleep each day from about 10-11pm simply so that I can get a full nights sleep. There are nights where I do struggle to fall asleep and stay asleep though.
Obviously what I have mentioned above is just a typical run down of what I do when I go to work there are other things that I do that may change up the day. For example, some days I take my dog on a long walk or take her to the dog park. During the week, I also tend to stop at this farm store near me that has fresh fruit and vegetables. Hopefully you enjoyed my typical work day run down. It is a bit boring though now that I am looking back at it…I need some more excitement in my work days!

Your day is so much more structured than mine, especially your mornings. I seem to just rush around in a mad daze! xx

Our days are pretty similar haha! I workout before work though because I struggle to stay motivated after a day with students!

Oh my goodness, it’s definitely difficult after a day of work but I cannot do it in the morning that early!

I’m also a ‘check my social media when I wake up’ type – it’s made me late a few times!!

My work days are essentially the same, it’s easy to fall into a routine. I also spend waay too much time on WordPress 😂

Haha I always look through social media in the morning because the light in my eyes make sure I don’t fall back to sleep on accident!
