Terhune Orchards

Is it really even Autumn if I don’t go apple picking at least once?! No probably not. Last year my boyfriend and I decided to take a trip to Battleview Orchards to pick some apples and this year we thought to try a new place called Terhune Orchards.

Upon arriving to Terhune Orchards we immediately went for the wine tasting because if you know my boyfriend and I you know we love our wine tasting. I opted for all the sweet wines because that is literally all I enjoy but my boyfriend did decide to be a bit more adventure and try a couple of dry wines. All the wines we were tasting were made at Terhune Orchards from mostly locally grown fruits and they are only available for purchase at Terhune Orchards. We walked away with three bottles of wine Just Peachy, Harvest Blues and Blossom White.

After our tasting we walked around for a bit, admired the flowers that you could actually pick, admired the pumpkins and then made our way over to the section of the orchard where we can actually pick our own apples. Once we reached the location to pick the apples we were given a bag, a map and an information paper that actually told us which apples were good for cooking, baking, sauces…etc. which I found to be very helpful!

We walked around picking our apples and ended up leaving with roughly 9 pounds of apples each – insane?! Maybe but I’ve already eaten all of mine and I am desperately waiting to go back  to pick more apples. We also decided to do our annual apple pie after apple picking which turned out extra delicious!

Have you ever gone apple picking? Do you enjoy it as much as I do?
