A Pop Of Color

Hello everyone! Did you know that a simple plain outfit with just the right amount of pop of color is really all you need for just about any day?! I’m not totally sure everyone will agree with that statement, but I sure do! For today’s look I decided to pair a classic denim skirt with white embroidery on the sides with a plain white T-Shirt that has 3D details on the sleeves. The final piece to this look is the pop of color which is a hot pink Juicy Couture bag.

Before I dive into sharing the outfit photos with you all I want to let you know on a little secret. The secret is that up until I found this skirt I always just assumed that jean skirts looked awful on me. In case you haven’t already noticed, I am a pear shape which means my hips are larger than the top half of my body. Although I have no particular issue with my body shape, I do find it difficult to pull off certain looks; one being skirts. I’ve tried many skirts in my life before and sometimes they just look awful because the back of the skirt ends up being much higher due to my bum or the skirt just looks uneven and weird because of my wider hips. I gave up on skirts, just assuming I couldn’t pull them off unless they were a pencil skirt. Well, that has changed once I encountered this skirt because I actually thought it fit me well. Now that I have a new look on skirts, I won’t just simply walk past them in stores and assume they won’t look good on me, I’ll give it a try and if it doesn’t fit well then so be it but if it does fit well than that’s just wonderful!

    1. Thank you so very much, I’ve really been into the denim mini as of late! I didn’t wear heels for this look because it was A LOT of walking around this day, I opted for sandals that were from Forever 21!

  1. You look great! That skirt looks awesome on you! I definitely agree about skirts. I’ve had a heck of a time trying to find skirts that work with me. JCPenny’s had a sale because the store, in my area, was going out of business. So a lot of the nice business skirts were on sale. And I looked really good in them!! $40 skirt I got on sale for $8. You’re right, we just have to look around, and simply try. 🙂

      1. Could probably develop a secondary element by the word CLASS… being the root of classic, implying simple and effective beauty…
The denim skirt is a good denim skirt in the same manner as Bruce Wayne’s good coat 😅
