Let me start off by saying that we’ve all been unmotivated to workout at one point or another. Whether you’ve never worked out a day in your life or whether you’ve been on again off again with your workout regime, at one point or another you’ve pondered if you should or shouldn’t skip on your workout. I want to let you know that yes, some days you won’t want to workout and that is totally okay! You know what, if you constantly workout and you want to take a week off, go for it because trust me, your body and mind will soon be craving the need for a good sweat and you’ll be right back to it! Now that that is out of the way, I want to give you all some quick tips on how to stay motivated to workout!
Set a Goal
What is your workout goal? Are you working out to be toner? Are you working out to lose weight? On the contrary, are you working out to gain weight and muscle? Are you working out to simply be a healthier version of you? Whatever the reason for you to get up and get active is, you need to acknowledge it and take it into account. Personally, I want to be healthy that is my number one goal, secondly I want to be toned. Think to yourself, what is it that you want with your own body? Don’t think about anyone else, just you, what are your fitness goals?
Schedule a Workout Time
It’s obvious that we all schedule a time to go to work, go to school, get our nails done, get our haircut, meet up with friends so why not schedule a time for ourselves and our own workouts?! Pick a time of day whether it’s in the morning, evening or at night and make sure you schedule at least a couple of minutes a day to get in a quick workout. Of course, if you have more time in a day than you can extend your workouts to at least 30 minutes to an hour a day!
Make it Fun
Don’t just go to the gym every single day and do the same routine over and over again, you will get bored and you will get over the whole fitness journey, instead, make working out fun. Each week change up your fitness routine by either getting creative and coming up with some workouts yourself or by looking up some online. Make working out super fun by workout out with your best friend or a family member.
The Clothes
This one may sound a bit silly, especially in comparison to the ones listed above but clothes really makes a difference. If you feel comfortable and are looking good in your gym gear, you’re more than likely going to be more motivated to actually put them on and do a quick workout. Go on a bit of a shopping spree and pick up some great looks so that you can not only look good but feel good too.
Remember Why You Started
This is a HUGE component in staying active and staying motivated. We often forget why we started or why we do certain things in life. If you ever feel as though you’ve lost sight of your goal, sit back and revaluate, think back to why you started and what kept you going when you first started your fitness journey.
Hopefully at least one of you found this post helpful and you’re now ready to get up and get active! Let me know in the comment section below what keeps you motivated to workout?
In the mean time, here are some workouts to do:
Good on you. We come to this world to experience life in our bodies. Enjoyed best by using it.

This time of year especially it’s good to have a reminder! New Year’s Resolutions and goals are too far in the past or too far in the future and on lazy summer days, it’s easy to forget. Thanks for posting!

Yep, I needed this post. I often find myself waking up meaning to do my workout then say “I’ll do it later” meaning the complete opposite

YES! The worst you can do is say you’ll do it later, just have to get up and get doing it as soon as possible!

Yes, unfortunately it is difficult! But worth it!

What a great motivational post. I totally agree and I certainly need a goal, otherwise I just put it off! I also agree that gym gear is super important. I’ve recently invested in some really flash gear which, whilst a bit expensive, has really spurred me on as I feel good when I’m working out.

I totally agree! If I wear gym clothes that make me feel amazing, I’m so much more likely to actually workout.

Last year, I started to look for workouts that were 10 minutes on YouTube, and that definitely helped me feel like I could do exercise, and then when I got comfortable, pick more workouts that were harder than when I first began. 🙂
