Hello everyone, I’m back again with another Get To Know post! Today our guest is Joan from My M.U.D Life. Interesting blog name isn’t it?! I was very intrigued when I first read it and hopefully you are too, read below to see what it stands for!

The Basics:

Name: Joan
Nickname(s): Joanie
Occupation: Library Clerk
Nationality: American
Country Currently Living In: USA

Let’s Get a Little Personal:

Favorite season?
Honestly all.  There’s something about each season that I love.  Winter it snows which makes the world look magical. Also it’s the holidays.  Spring is a time of renewal and growth.  Everything comes alive again.  It starts getting warm.  Summer brings swimming and long summer nights and fireflies.  And Fall it starts getting crisp and cool.  It’s time for apple picking and pumpkins and the leaves changing color.  There’s something to look forward to each season.

Favorite holiday?
Hands down Halloween.  Always has been my fave holiday.

Favorite fruit?
That’s hard.  Strawberries or blueberries.

Favorite meal of the day?
Dinner.  It’s very important to me to have family dinners every night.  It’s a time to kick back, relax and talk about our day.

Favorite go to breakfast?
Omelet with ham and cheese and a cup of raw milk.

Favorite health tip?
Research research research.  Learn as much as you can.  Find what works for you.  Make lifestyle changes.  Don’t concentrate on calories or weight.  How you feel is more important.  No restrictions.

This or that:

Vegetables or fruits?

Gym or home workouts?

Hiking or cycling?

Sweet or savory?

Simple Questions:

When did you start your blog?
June 2017

Why did you start your blog?
I’ve learned so much in the past three years and have made such big lifestyle changes.  People started asking me for advice, so I figured why not share what I’ve learned with everyone.

What is the meaning behind your blog name?
Lol.  There’s a story behind this.  My blog is called M.U.D. which stands for Mindful Unique Decisions.  It’s about making healthy choices each and everyday and it’s how my husband and I live.  M.U.D. has another meaning too and it’s pretty funny.  I am a water sign and my husband is an earth sign.  He says together we are mud.  Mud is also a building block.  You can use it for lots of things and mud can help things come together just like M.U.D. the lifestyle. It not only represents how we live our life, but also represents my husband and I.

What inspires you to blog?
I love to help people.  I love to learn and share knowledge.  I feel we can all learn from one another.  When I share stories, or products I use everyday, talk about my struggles or share recipes I’m hoping that I can inspire others to live their best, happiest lives.  If something that I’ve been through can help someone else then that’s awesome!

Let’s Get a Deeper Connection:

What advice would you give your younger self?
Always stay strong.  Never give up.  Fight for what you believe in.  Let go of negative people.  Learn as much as you can.  And know one day you will be living a life you never imagined.

What advice would you give the younger generation in general?
Unplug.  I feel the younger generation is too wrapped up in technology.  Step back.  Go outside.  Explore.  Leave your gadgets at home.  Learn from the world around you.  Find the simple things that bring happiness.

What quote or quotes do you absolutely love to live by?
“Collect moments not things.”

What are your life goals?
To live the best, healthiest, happiest life I can.  To always dream big and never give up.  To never stop learning and growing and asking “Why?”  To always keep a childlike sense of wonder.  And to be proud of who I am and be myself.

What are your blog goals?
To keep inspiring others to live their best life.  If I can help one person through a story I tell or advice I give or make someone laugh when they are having a bad day, then I have made a huge difference.

Joanie, your answers brought a smile to me, they uplifted me. I love and I mean absolutely love the meaning behind M.U.D. both what it stands for and what it represents. I love that you want to inspire others and make a difference in the world even if it’s only one person at a time. I love that, I love everything you stand for and the community you’ve built on your blog.
