Tom’s Deodorant

It’s summer time and with the hot weather we definitely need to be applying, if not reapplying deodorant constantly! Let’s face it, we don’t want to be that stinky person in a packed subway ride and we for sure would hate it if we were the ones that no one wanted to dance next to at the club so for that, we use deodorant! Today I want to talk about Tom’s deodorant that I recently tried.

Price:

Claims:

A long-lasting aluminum free deodorant that helps keep you protected from smelly odor. Tom’s deodorant is made without artificial fragrances or preservatives and there are no animal ingredients in their formula. Alongside with not having any animal ingredients in the formula itself, Tom’s also doesn’t do animal testing which is a major perk!

Packaging:

Basic to say the least. The container is white, the background on the sticker of the deodorant is also white, the only thing giving this product color is all the colorful words on the sticker.

My Experience:

I was at the store and I really wanted to buy a new deodorant, one without aluminum for I have heard that the aluminum in deodorant can be very dangerous to the body. Basically, I wanted a healthier approach to keeping me from smelling awful. When I saw Tom’s deodorant I wasn’t too impressed with the packaging but I was impressed and pleased with the fact that it said “aluminum free” which is exactly what I was looking for. ShopRite only had 2-3 different scent which included unscented, lavender and natural powder. I’ll admit, I wasn’t too happy with any of the scents but I decided to purchase the lavender and baby powder one.

I opened the deodorant and it was something like I’ve never seen before, it wasn’t chalky white like most deodorants which shocked me but then I remembered that this was healthier than most deodorants since it didn’t contain anything artificial. I applied the deodorant and it went on smoothly, as it should, and it didn’t burn. Yes, I’ve had deodorants that burned my skin before a bit. The deodorant didn’t stain my shirt, as some do and it was long lasting.

Overall Thoughts:

I like the deodorant as whole mainly because it isn’t tested on animals, doesn’t have aluminum and it’s clear of any preservatives or artificial ingredients. I agree with the claim that the deodorant is long lasting. I’m also very happy with the fact that this deodorant hasn’t gotten visibly on my clothes. The only downfall to this brand and deodorant itself is that there isn’t a variety of scents to pick from. If you know me, you know I love my coconut and vanilla scented items so not having that option in this deodorant brand is a damper. Nonetheless, I can look past the scents since it has what I’m really looking for which is a long lasting aluminum free deodorant.

  1. I’ve tried Toms and found that I’m actually allergic to some of the scents, so it narrow my picks down even more haha. I actually just went through two bottles of Piper Wai and it was the most amazing all-natural, aluminum-free deodorant that I’ve ever used. I’m using Tarte’s now, and liking that too! xx.

  2. I have used Tom’s and I thought it was a good product. However, Arm & Hammer also has a Aluminum Free (Natural) deodorant which is less expensive and works just as well 😉

    Tom’s = $4.27
    Arm & Hammer = $1.89

  4. Good review on Tom’s…I also find it to be kind of “sticky” but it has been awhile since I’ve used it. I recently purchased “Pit Paste” but I haven’t been home to pick it up from my mail box!

  5. I use Tom’s daily. It’s my first time using the brand as I too was switching to something vegan and cruelty free. I like it a lot. Nothing will ever beat antiperspirant, but as natural deodorants go, Tom’s is pretty high up there on the list. Also, this might sound weird, but you may want to try a scent for men. I find it fresher and cleaner smelling rather than a perfume that’s trying to cover up BO.

    1. Is that so?! I may try the men one then because I found that the lavender one was just ehh, I typically use it for working out because I don’t really like it regularly and I am definitely searching for a more fresh scent so thank you so much for that!

  10. I use Tom’s and it is still one of my favorite deodorants ever. I am a green child and if spending a bit more money saves our environment then heck I’m in. I am so glad to see a review on this. It truly is a great product and I agree with you wholeheartedly.
    If I may add also, that there is also a chlorine free bleach you can get at market street that is completely plant based. I would recommend that as well over Clorox.

  11. I have always wanted to try this product!!!! I am so happy to hear that it works well and doesn’t leave stains!!! I have seen more scents of this deodorant where I’m from and there are scents like apricot as well. Maybe you could check out a local natural foods store to see if they have more scent options? I hope you find one like!!!

  14. I’m definitely loving toms. I’ve heard many claims about deodorant causing lots of issues because it clogs our pores and Toms is one of the only natural ones out there right now. I love it. I have the apricot smell!

  17. I love their products! I have their lavender scented deodorant and the smell has totally grown on me. The fact that is is aluminum free and they don’t test on precious animals?! Check and check! 💖💖

  19. I bought this deodorant for my son (11) and I am sold. Keeps the usually constantly sweaty and sticky pre teen fresh for hours, without having to put harmful ingredients on his sensitive skin 🙂

  21. I used to use Tom’s until about 80% of their company was purchased by Colgate-Palmolive some years ago. Their products are cruelty-free but the money is funding animal testing via the new patent company. 😕
