REN Flash Rinse 1-Minute Facial

Hello there everyone! I told you that this month I really wanted to review more products so here I am again today with another product review. Today I am going to be reviewing the REN Flash Rinse 1-Minute Facial that came in my BirchBox one month.

Price:

That is one major price difference and in case you’re wondering, yes, both are the same size.

Claims:

One minute face mask that firms, tones and smoothes skin by providing 10% vitamin C which will turn dull complexion bright.

How To Use:

Apply generous amount to the face and then with slightly wet fingertips massage to activate the vitamin C in the product. Leave the product on your face for one minute and then rinse. For sensitive skin, make sure to do a test patch on the inner arm before using it on the face, if the skin does not turn red you may continue to put it on your face, if it does turn red DO NOT USE.

Smell:

HATE IT! I can honestly say that this product smells like a spa gone wrong. REN does mention that when water is applied to this product that it can produce a “slight metallic fragrance” which “disappears” once it’s rinsed. I agree it has a metallic smell definitely but I do not think it disappears once it is rinsed; instead I think the fragrance of metal lingers on your skin for awhile.

Does It Work?:

I do think that the product does what it is suppose to which is to eliminate dull skin and make it look brighter, toned and firm but I just do not like the smell of it what so ever. Furthermore, I felt like my face felt very rubbery and almost gross.

Will I Repurchase?:

Definitely NOT.

Overall Rating:

1/5 ; I gave it a 1 because it’s true to it’s claims.

Have you tried this product? How does it make you feel?

    1. I know, I was highly disappointed and I was so thrown off by the metallic scent! BirchBox is a subscription where you pay $10 a month and they send you 5 different sample sized products to try.

      1. The thing is too, if you look up the product they know that the metallic scent is present because they let you know that this is because of the Vitamin C being activated…regardless…ew.

      2. It does, is it? But I bet one would not want cherish the metallic whiffs after washing it off. Makes me think of the taste of iron syrups or when you have placed your hand on a railing for too long and you cannot shake it off after.

      3. YESSS!!! That is exactly what I thought of! Good thing my lotion smelled of coconut and it could mask the scent because if it weren’t for that I would have doomed with a metallic smelling face!

    1. Yay! I wanted to try something new so I’m excited you’re enjoying them. Oh my goodness though, this product was HORRIFIC! I was stunned by how bad it was, some people out there do like it but it really isn’t for me.

  1. Hahahaha spa gone wrong. I laughed out loud at that one. Not the way I would like someone to describe my product. Should forward this to them so they know how bad it is. I love your reviews. Especially the way they are organized, by topics. Amazing work, as always.

      1. It is. My green clay mask that I love doesn’t smell that good… maybe a little dirt mixed with freshly cut grass and clay? Don’t know but it’s tolerable.

    1. All I really noticed is that my face felt much tighter, almost like rubber, and it looked really shiny. It does what it says it’s suppose to do but I just really didn’t like the scent.
