Here I am again, back again with some more wonderful stories of being a substitute! If you’ve missed my other four posts similar to this, you should definitely go on a hunt and find them because I’m certain that most of you will get a good laugh!
Barely Getting By:
So, as I’ve mentioned time and time again I typically substitute at a high school. I prefer the high school because it’s the age I would one day like to teach and also just because I don’t have to deal with crying, snot or immaturity (although, sometimes I still deal with the aforementioned.) Anyway, I titled this little story “Barely Getting By” because I’ve encountered several students that have actually had the courage to come up to me and ask me to write their essays or do their assignments…I’ve clearly always said no and then I always tell them that if they think the work load is tough in high school then they are going to hate the work load in college. Silly kids thinking I’ll do their work for them, pshhh, I did high school already and there is no going back !
Roof Adventure:
One day I was subbing in a classroom that had a small closet attached to it. In this small closet there were books, books and more books, along with some movies, some carts and a giant portable TV. The entrance to this closet was located in the room but also from the hallway. Clearly I had eyes on the entrance from the room and therefore I was making sure no students would go in there. On the other hand, I had no idea there was an unlocked entrance from the hallway. A few minutes into class I hear a banging sound coming from the closet, scary right? Well, like a scary movie, I was the foolish person that goes towards the sound and when I walk into the dark closet I see a couple of my students trying to climb into the hatch that then leads onto the roof (or so they thought, I’m pretty sure it’s just a crawl space though). Regardless, I had to tell students to leave the closet and return to the classroom. Don’t worry though, they didn’t plan on going into the craw place….only because they saw a lot of dust and spider webs. Ohhhh, kids.
Well that’s all for today, if you have missed the other stories I definitely suggest you go over to my blog and hunt for them because you are seriously missing out.
Interesting to know, the energy of doing the insane still is the same across continents.

ok, that is a new one! What happened to hanging out at the fence at the back of the school to ditch a class? This one sounds like too much work for me!

Ohhh, if it were only that easy, now I think they want more of a thrill so the roof will do I guess! Haha!

These are hilarious! I can’t believe that some kids can even work up the nerve to ask the teacher to do their work for them! Also, catching those kids trying to escape up through the roof is such a funny mental image to had XD

Oh my goodness, they have no filter, they’ll gladly ask me to do their work ALLL the time! As for the kids, oh my…good thing the hatch was covered in dust and spiders or I’m afraid I would have had kids on the roof. Haha

Oh my goodness, I wonder what kids are thinking asking a teacher to write their assignments!
And you are so brave! NEVER WALK TOWARDS THE SOUND! Surely we’ve all seen enough scary movies to know this, right?! Hahaha

Haha, they’re not thinking, that is the main issue! I should have learned to never go towards the sound but I’m glad I did because I caught them in the act! haha thank you so much for coming by!
