Hey, hey, hey! Happy Thursday everyone, we are nearly at the end of the week, how has this week been treating you? Make sure you let me know in the comment section below. Today I have another Get To Know post for you and our special guest is Silvia from The Happiest Pixel. Silvia runs an awesome blog where she shares her DIY projects, travels and photos and art. How could you not be interested in reading and seeing all that she has to create?! Let’s get to know her a bit more below and after we are done reading about her how about we all agree to go over to her blog and give her a massive follow! I think that sounds like an amazing idea.
The Basics:
Name: Sílvia
Nickname: I don’t have one, but I suppose now I can say my blog name as one
Occupation: I work for an insurance company; and, of course, blogger. Oh and I’ve always wanted to be a writer
Nationality: Spanish
Country currently living in: Spain
Let’s Get a Little Personal:
Favorites:
Favorite book?
I don’t have a favourite one, since I’ve enjoyed so many books. To name a few, The name of the rose (Umberto Eco), Harry Potter (Rowling) or 1Q84 (Murakami).
Favorite genre of film?
My favourite film is Annie Hall, I love this film. But there are also more films that I love, like Life of Bryan or Schindler’s list.
Favorite scent?
Lavender: it has a wonderful scent. My second choice would be strawberry scent. But also the scent of books it’s awesome. I love how they smell.
Favorite thing to do on a Friday evening?
Having a walk and buying the groceries I need to cook my weekend meals. Sometimes, if I need clothes or a new pair of shoes, I go to my favourite shops. But just if I need something. Visiting a museum is also a good idea.
Favorite place you’ve visited?
I love every place I’ve visited because the nice moments and the beautiful things I’ve seen. Everywhere you can discover amazing small places, new food and having fun moments. I think I can’t choose one.
This or That:
Makeup or no makeup?
Usually I have to use makeup for my job, and almost always I use it at weekends, too. But sometimes I feel lazy and I go to places without it. I feel good without makeup, too.
Nails painted or unpainted?
On Winter, unpainted. You know, cold and gloves. Spring and Summer, painted. I change the colour I use, almost every week I use a different one. I have 4-5 colours and I use them all.
Hair up or hair down?
Hair down, definitely. Sometimes, hair up on Summer.
Tea or coffee?
I love both. A coffee with milk is better at morning. Not when I wake up, I prefer it later. Afternoon: tea, red or green. I drink tea at home, and coffee at a café. Actually I don’t have a coffee maker at home. For me, the best part of having a coffee is to go to a nice café and read a book or a magazine while having it.
Baking or cooking?
Difficult question. It depends on the recipe, but if I had to choose, I would say baking. Cakes, cupcakes, cookies… I love making them.
Would You Rather:
Would you rather cook/bake or do DIY projects?
Cook/bake. I love DIY projects, but my blog talks mainly about food. Also, I’m better at baking than making DIY projects….
Would you rather do a tag or an award?
I like both, but I’ve done more awards than tags. So, let’s say I rather an award.
Would you rather travel the whole world but never be able to take a single photo of where you have been or only travel to 50 places but be able to take photos?
Wow, as a person who loves travels, this is a difficult one. I love taking pictures, especially when I travel, but having to choose just 50 places it’s incredibly difficult. There are tons of nice places! I don’t want to go to every single place all over the world, but more than 50 would be great. So, my answer is not taking pictures, but traveling to more places.
Simple Questions:
How long have you been blogging for?
I started my blog on September 2015. Since then, this time. I had another blog a couple of years ago, but it did not worked.
Do you watch any YouTubers?
I watch videos about cooking or cleaning sometimes, and now I want to improve my own YouTube channel: the happiest pixel.
Do you have any siblings?
No, I’m an only child. Sometimes I think it would be great to have some siblings, but most of time is ok.
Are you a fan of pets?
Cats and pet bunnies. Adorable and pretty, I love cats and bunnies. I want to have one, but pets are not allowed where I live now….
Let’s Get a Deeper Connection:
What advice would you give your younger self?
I have lots of advices for my younger self, but I think the most important is the next one: make the things you want to do, not the things you think you should do. I mean, instead of looking for a boring job, try to have your own business. Make creative things, and find the way to live from your creativity. Learn new skills. Take classes: photography, cooking, sewing… I think I should have studied something more artistic.
What advice would you give to those going through a rough time?
My advice is to think that all happens for a reason. Bad times come to an end and then, better times arrive. Learn lessons from your bad moments, and apply them later, when things are going better. But don’t worry if you feel disappointed. Being sad sometimes is a part of our human nature, and to feel vulnerable or fragile is normal and acceptable. No one is perfect, and we all feel bad sometimes. Just accept rough times as a necessary part of life.
What are your aspirations?
That will sound sad, but I think my aspiration nowadays is to follow the same advice that I would give to my younger self. I would like to have my own business and to live from the results of my creativity. That’s my aspiration, to have the life which I’ve always dreamed. It’s never too late to fight for your dreams.
If you could change the world, how would you change it?
I think my possibilities of changing the world are a bit limited as an individual, but if all of us contribute, the change can be bigger. To recycle everything, being nice and kind with people…. Even small changes can make a big difference.
Describe the perfect world.
Wow, where I can start?? I would like to live in a world without wars or any similar problems. Without people starving. Where everyone would be nice and considered to others. I think that would be great.
