I recently got an idea for a new blog series titled “Get To Know” in this blog series I want to interview other bloggers; these interviews will in no shape or form be very formal or professional, they will be laid back and casual. I want to do this series to not only get to know the people that I am following but also to share other blogs. I hope you all enjoy this series and who knows, maybe you’ll be part of it one day.

Today’s special guest is Ciarra from ciarralorren. A little background and secret, Ciarra is actually my best friend and from time to time I take photos for her blog. Ciarra is also the only person (other than my boyfriend) that knows that I have this blog, none of our other friends know. I’m so very thankful and happy that Ciarra has agreed to be the first person to take part in my new series “Get To Know.” Let’s see what she had to say!

Favorites:

Favorite fragrance?
Coconut Passion by Victoria’s Secret! It’s like summer in a bottle all year round!

Favorite shoes?
I’d rather be barefoot on an island. However, being that I spend a majority of my time in New York City, ankle boots are always a good idea!

Favorite brand?
In terms of high fashion brands, Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana are at the top of my list. However, for regular, everyday shopping I’ve really been loving Topshop for the last few years.

Favorite lotion?
I’m going to stick with the classic here and say Palmer’s Cocoa Butter. No other product moisturizes quick like it!

Favorite post you’ve written?
Without trying to sound conceited by any means, there are so many posts that I’ve loved writing simply because I love sharing my creativity and my voice through my blog. But, if I’d have to chose…perhaps a runway review like “Designs of Future Past” or “From Outer Space to Heaven and Everything in Between” as they are a true depiction of what I am passionate about. Oooh wait, I also love “The Cove” and “CIARRALORREN/UNEDITED“! Can you tell I’m quite the indecisive individual?!?

This or That:

Heavy makeup or minimal makeup?
Minimal, minimal, minimal. But, a good eyeliner wing never hurt anybody!

Jeans or leggings?
JEANS FOR SURE. I’m denim obsessed!

Stripes or plaid?
Love a good stripe…but vertical please!

Scarves or hats?
Hmmm. Well, if I only wore a scarf, then my ears would be chilly and if I only wore a hat then my neck and chin would have to brace the cold!!! So, long answer short, I typically wear both at the same time haha.

Heels or flats?
Flats!!! But, not as in ballerina flats. Rather, I prefer chic sneakers, espadrilles and sandals!

Curly hair or straight hair?
I’ll just skip the long answer here and say both. But it definitely depends on my mood and/or look of the day!

Would You Rather:

Dress only in styles that were popular 20 years ago or dress the way you did when you were 15 years old?
I would so much rather dress only in styles that were popular 20 years ago! I mean the 90s were iconic! Also, sometimes I wonder what 15-year-old me was thinking when I got dressed in the morning.

Would you rather be underdressed or overdressed?
Hmmm, good question! I don’t know if I would necessarily say under or overdressed as I feel as though you should dress to your own comfort without comparing yourself to others. But at the same time I’d never want to be the person in sweats and at a fancy-shmancy party!

Would you rather have a comfy night in or a wild night out?
Comfy nights in are the best! Especially when they’re filled with loads of laughter!

Simple Questions:

How would you describe your style?
I like to think of my style as “model-off-duty-ish”. But really, casual chic would probably better describe it.

What are your wardrobe staples?
At the moment; jeans, turtleneck (long-sleeve or tank), black ankle booties and a fun jacket to throw on top! For summer, one word: bathing suit! Ok, that’s two.

What places do you wish to travel to?
Ughh, I want to travel to SO many places. Italy is definitely at the top of my list at the moment, however, Greece and loads of Caribbean islands are close seconds!

What piece of advice would you give your younger self?
There are things in life that you’re never ever going to be able to control, so always remember to keep living life instead of getting caught up in the negative aspects of life. And, though times may seem tough in the moment, always maintain your faith that God has greater plans beyond your comprehension. Things will get better, but it is up to you to heal your own wounds..not time.

What quote or quotes do you cherish and try to live your life by?
This is not necessarily a quote but I am a firm believer that “God does everything for a reason”, whether we understand them or not. As I struggle with anxiety and OCD two phrases I really try to live life by is “give up and let God” as well as “always find the positives in life”. Life’s what you make it, so let’s make it rock. (Yes, that was a corny reference for all of you Hannah Montana fans out there! Hehe)

In what ways have you changed throughout the years?
Throughout my life, I’ve transformed from the girl who felt as though she was on top of the world to someone stuck between the boulders of rock bottom. However, in more recent years, I’ve learned to use those rocks as stepping stones to help me reach the life I love and want to live. I’ve also stopped cheating in Monopoly…so there’s that. (LOL JK..no I haven’t!)

Describe the perfect world. How could one describe the perfect world?
There’s so many aspects that I could add, however, in my perfect world suffering of any kind would merely not exist. Everyone would live in peace and harmony with lives full of adventure, love, laughter, health, happiness and loads of blessings.
