Blogging Advice 002

Disclaimer: I am not a blogging guru, in fact, I’m far from it.

Hello there, how are all of you?! If you missed my Blogging Advice 001 then you should definitely go on over and check it out, if you’re interested of course, if you’re not I completely understand. I have a few more tips to share with you but before I do, I want to remind you that I am not an expert on blogging. The reason I started this series was because I had several people getting in contact with me asking me to share my advice and tips so I figured why not make a blogging series out of it. Without further ado, let’s get to it!

Patience:

This is probably one that you’ve heard many people say before. Patience, patience, patience. It’s hard to have patience when all you want to do is flourish and shine right away but as they say, patience is key. In the blogging world some people are lucky enough to expand and grow their blog over night but for most of us we could go days, weeks, months without gaining a single followers. Trust me, when I first started blogging I was just as eager as you are to get more followers and to get more people to interact with me but it just didn’t happen; it took a lot of time before I started getting people to actually visit my blog. The important thing to remember is that if you have the patience and just keep on blogging what you love about, the followers, views, likes, and comments will come eventually. Just remember patience.

Comment & Communicate:

How do you expect people to know about your blog if you don’t put your blog out there!? On your free time, instead of binge watching episodes on Netflix, go on your blog, search up something you’re interested and then read other people’s posts and comment and like their stuff, even give them a follow. Think about it. If you comment on someone’s post, they will see it and probably wonder who you are and what kind of blog you have which will maybe make them curious enough to click on your name and go see. Also, if someone else notices your comment they may even click on your name and go and check you out. It’s very important to be supportive of one another and the best way to be supportive is to comment on someone’s blog post. So, if you like something that someone has written, tell them, tell them you enjoyed their writing, add to their discussion and like what they have shared.

Schedule:

Think about your favorite show for a second. Does it come on every Sunday at 9pm? No, are you not a Keeping Up With The Kardashian’s kind of person? Oh, well maybe it comes on on Thursdays at 10pm…no? Don’t like Impractical Jokers? Well, uhm, okay, anyway, think of your favorite show. It has a schedule doesn’t it? Each week you can count on the fact that that show will be aired for your entertainment. I bet that if for whatever reason, whether that be because the show is taking a break or because there are awards on and the show is postponed you get fussy, sad, and a bit angry. Well, it’s the same thing with blogging. If you have a set schedule than people know exactly when to expect you to post. If someone posts constantly and then boom they stop, the readers will notice, the readers will question if the person is okay and where the person has gone. Make sure to have a schedule whether it’s once, twice, three times a week or even if it’s everyday, having a schedule is important and beneficial for you and your readers.

  2. Great tips! I try to keep my posts on a schedule and post at the same time every day. Occasionally I may do a bonus one, but only if I have something exciting enough to talk about 🙂

  6. Great tips I must say!
One thing I want to ask about scheduling; should it be communicated to the readers like for example, ‘a recipe will be posted every Sunday’, or it should just be made a habit without an announcement and let the readers automatically have an idea that this blogger posts a recipe every Sunday?

    1. Thank you so much! Now, in my opinion that is totally up to you! If you have a strict schedule where you’ll be posting specific content on certain days then maybe making that known to your readers will be helpful for them! You could also be vague with your schedule announcement if you think each week you may change it up a bit. Hope this helps, have a wonderful day! x
