Although we may all wish to be our best happy selves, it’s inevitable that some days we stumble upon a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. Every time I am feeling down, whether it’s down about the world or down about myself, I attempt several different things to try and lift my spirits. I do have to say one thing, it’s not guaranteed that these tips will magically fix a horrible day, but it’s certainly worth the try.
Yoga
Yoga has many benefits on the body, some physical and some mental. One of the mental benefits of yoga is that it has the power to relax the mind. Whenever I’m having a truly bad day and I don’t feel like doing a hard intense workout, I immediately turn to yoga. I personally, really enjoy watching Yoga With Adriene.
Hang out with my boyfriend
As tempting as it is to stay inside and alone, I know it’s best if I have company whenever I’m not having a great day. Often times, my boyfriend already knows I’m having a bad day so he tries to make it better by offering to bring me dinner, dessert or Starbucks; although all three of those sound lovely, just having his company is all I need. Whenever we spend time together on a bad day, I try not to think about what’s going on that put me in the mood, instead I try to play games or watch shows that will distract me from whatever is going on.
Hang out with mybest friend
I’m not quiet sure there is anyone more silly and funny than my best friend Ciarralorren. Her bubbly fun personality is surely to make me cheer up instantly from a bad day. Hanging out with your closest friends can really bring out the joy in a day, no matter how rubbish the day may seem. Try to go out and set up a lunch date or a night in with them, it could make a huge difference in how you’re feeling.
Write a to-do list
This one may seem crazy to some people however I find it very very helpful.Β Often times if I’m having a bad day is because I’m thinking about a million and one things. I find that if I sit down and write a list of everything I want to do, need to do, and plan to do it eases my mind a bit.
Take a nap
It may be difficult to take a nap if you feel like you’re in an awful mood but, it may be just what you need. If you’re feeling run down and over worked and that’s what is making you be in such a bad mood, take a couple of minutes to lay down and nap.

I DEFINITELY do this every single time I’m cranky or in a bad mood or having an awful day. I find that the YouTubers I watch on a daily basis really do have a positive impact on my day. I love to watch Zoe Sugg, Alfie Deyes, SacconeJolys, Joe Sugg, Tanya Burr, Jim Chapman, Marcus Butler and others.
Get cozy
Grab your favorite blanket and pillows, light your favorite candle and cuddle up with a good movie, a pet and a nice hot drink. Something about getting cozy and relaxing really allows my body to just let go of whatever is bothering me. It may be difficult to actually sit there and let everything go however giving it a try is definitely worth it.
Get outside
Fresh air works wonders; it’s probably the best and cheapest medicine out there. If you’re having a bad day and you’ve been coped up in your emotions or house all day, try getting out and going for a stroll either around your neighborhood or in the park; you can go either alone, with a pet or with a friend.
A bath
I personally don’t have a big comfy bath to lay in whenever I am in a bad mood, however, I’ve been big baths and I know how comfy they can be. If you have a bath and enjoy to take baths I suggest grabbing your favorite bath bomb, some candles and soak in the tub for an hour.

Its awesome how a lot of people are moving towards Yoga π Meditation and yoga are food for my soul. Have you been to Rishikesh in India? It is the YOGA capital of the World and has number of ashrams for meditation and yoga.

Good old YouTube can always put you in a better mood heheπ Good tips! Being alone in a bad mood is more self-destructive than many may think just gives you more time to beat yourself up! Getting out and doing things with people you love is always smart

I think that’s my favorite of these tips, too. Unless, as an introvert, my bad mood comes from overexposure to people! Then a little alone time, like getting comfy and reading, generally does the trick.
