Monday Motivation 20

Let’s kick off this week with a fun and different workout schedule. For those of you who may be new to my site, welcome, search around and for those of you that are regulars you know that usually my Monday Motivation’s consist of video workouts for the whole week; I figured this week we can change it up by providing a more fun and playful workout routine.

YOU WILL NEED:

  • A deck of playing cards
  • A yoga mat (or soft surface if you do not own a mat)
  • Water, water and more water

The game plan:

  • Each day complete the warm up
  • Grab the deck of playing cards and shuffle them then place pile of cards faced down
  • Set timer for 25 minutes
  • Flip one card at a time and complete the workout given by the suit for each day
  • Complete 10 reps for every card you get unless it’s an A in which case complete 11 reps
  • Attempt to complete workout in 25 minutes; if you finish early keep going

Warm up:

  • 20 jumping jacks
  • 15 squats
  • 20 walking lounges (10 each leg)
  • 20 high knees

REPEAT ONE MORE TIME

Today Monday January 16, 2016:

  • Warm up
  • Hearts – Squats
  • Spades – Mountain climbers
  • Clubs – Jumping jacks
  • Diamonds – Burpees

Tuesday January 17, 2016

  • Warm up
  • Hearts – Lunges
  • Spades – Crunches
  • Clubs – Leg raises
  • Diamonds – Donkey kicks

Wednesday January 18, 2016

  • Warm up
  • Hearts – Fire hydrants
  • Spades – Donkey kicks
  • Clubs – Lunges
  • Diamonds – Squats

Thursday January 19, 2016

  • Warm up
  • Hearts – Crunches
  • Spades – Leg raises
  • Clubs – Bicycle kicks
  • Diamonds – Push ups

Friday January 20, 2016

  • Warm up
  • Hearts – Russian twists
  • Spades – Squats
  • Clubs – Jumping jacks
  • Diamonds – Crunches

Saturday January 21, 2016

  • Warm up
  • Hearts – Burpees
  • Spades – Push ups
  • Clubs – High knees
  • Diamonds – Squats

Sunday January 22, 2016

  • Rest it up!

 

Tips & Tricks

  • As always, drink plenty of water
  • Don’t forget to stretch after a workout
  • Complete the full warm up to get the blood flowing through your body
  • Feeling dizzy, out of breath or simply too strained during the workout? Take a break!!
  • It’s okay if you can’t complete all 52 cards in 25 minutes
  • Take your time but don’t ever give up
  • NO PEEKING TO SEE WHICH CARD COMES NEXT
