Quotes to Live by 009

Quotes can be so simple yet have the power to be so life changing. Today I want to share some more quotes with you. If you have any quotes you’d like to share with me and others reading, feel free to put them in the comment section below.

“The reason we struggle with insecurity is because we compare our behind-the-scenes with everyone else’s highlight reel.” – Steve Furtick

A lovely reader of mine, Pix Chapman, actually left this quote in my comment section on a different Quotes to Live by post. I had never heard of this quote before but immediately felt connected to it. In my opinion, the reason so many of us have insecurities isn’t so much because of the pressure we feel by the society around us but because of our own mind; our own dark thoughts. Think about it, the only person and only voice we can never escape from, never get away from is our own…naturally, each one of us gets dark thoughts about ourselves that brings us down. Often times we compare our struggles, our life in general to someone who is standing in the brightest of spotlights. We do all this for what? We should never compare our negatives, our struggles, our faults, to those who are shining bright because after all, they too have negatives, struggles and faults behind their scenes.

“Everything will be alright in the end. If it’s not alright, it is not yet the end.” – Unknown

This quote was also left on one of my Quotes to Live by; the wonderful reader, Abigail, left this quote in my comment section. I have heard this quote plenty of times but I’m happy that Abigail has so kindly reminded me of it. Everyone and I mean everyone, even that fancy celebrity you worship on the big screen, goes through hardships. It’s important to remember that hardships are only temporary; and yes, some do last longer than others,Β however they do come to an end. If you ever feel as though you are trapped in a hardship that will never end, that nothing will ever be alrightΒ again, just remember that you still aren’t at the end but if you keep on pushing through, you’ll get there.

“If you’re never scared or embarrassed or hurt, it means you never take any chances.” – Julia Sorel

Julia isn’t wrong you know. It’s so easy to go about life living in our own personal bubbles, untouched, unharmed, unhurt, however, what’s the point of all that? What’s the point of living in your own little bubble? Are you living at all if you’re not taking chances to explore new things? To travel and meet new people? Getting scared to try something new is about just as exciting as trying the new thing itself. Yes, it may stink and be awful to feel that scared sensation but it means you’re alive; it means you’re taking a risk. If you’re never embarrassed are you ever being your true silly self? I say silly because we all have a little silliness in us whether we choose to show it or not is the question. If you’re never getting hurt that also simply means you’re never opening up to others or exploring and learning about others out there in the world. What’s the fun in living in a bubble anyway?

I hope you’ve enjoyed these three quotes. Leave your reactions and quotes you like in the comment section below!

One of my favorite quotes from last year is this one-

when i loved myself enough, i began leaving everything that wasn’t healthy.
this meant people, jobs, my own belief s and habits- anything that made me small. my judgement called it disloyal, now I see it as self loving
