Quotes to Live By 008

It’s a perfect day for some quotes to be shared! Don’t forget to leave your own favorite quotes in the comments section below so that everyone can read them.

“The only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday.” – Anonymous

So so so often we compare ourselves to the person sitting next to us or the person we see on the TV; we try to mimic them and become better than they are so that we are at the top. Although it’s great to want to strive, it is never great to try to compare ourselves to someone else and attempt to go a step further by being better than them. The only person we should ever compare ourselves to is the person we were the day before. We should always try to improve ourselves whether it’s physically, mentally or emotionally; we should try to be the best version of ourselves.

“Life’s too mysterious to take too serious.” – Mary Engelbreit

Well, well, well, isn’t that the truth? We don’t know what tomorrow holds, in fact, we don’t know what the next millisecond of our day has in store for us so why be so serious? It’s great to have goals, it’s great to be focused on things in life but it’s not great to be so serious that we forget to laugh and to enjoy the great things in life around us. Next time you drop a ton of papers at work, don’t get mad and all pissy about it, shrug, laugh it off and remember that gravity has a stronger force than you ever will.

“It’s OK to not be OK, as long as you don’t stay that way.” – Anonymous

We all go through rough patches in our life; rough patches are inevitable. The important thing about rough patches is that in the moment we embrace them, we feel the feelings we are feeling (does that make sense?). We take in the moment, we take in the sadness but we promise ourselves that we will overcome it and see brighter happier days.
