Quick Easter Treats

Easter is just around the corner, and by the corner, I mean TOMORROW! Below are some very quick and cute easter treats that serve for not only easter but spring time in general, enjoy!

You will need:

  • 2 1/2 bars of Hershey’s chocolate (XL size) or any chocolate you enjoy
  • 3-4 cups Shredded Wheat cereal (mini)
  • Whoppers Mini eggs (or any kind you like)
  • Cupcake wrappers

Procedure:
Fill a median sized saucepan half way up with water and place it over the stove until it comes to a light boil, then lower heat to low. Place a stove safe bowl over the pot and add chocolate. Make sure the stove is on low because you don’t want the chocolate to hardened into one big lump (I’ve learned the hard way). Stir your chocolate until it is completely melted. In a bowl take the shredded wheat cereal and shred it some more until it’s very tiny pieces of wheat, then pour the melted chocolate over the cereal and mix until the cereal is completely coated. Place the mixture into a cupcake wrapper with a small dent in the middle and then add the mini eggs.

Festive Rice Krispies:

You will need:

  • 3 tablespoons of butter
  • 4 cups of mini marshmallows
  • 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal
  • M&M’s

Procedure:
In a large saucepan melt butter over low heat and then add the marshmallows until they are completely melted. Remove from heat. Add the cereal into the pot until it is completely covered in marshmallow mix and then add the M&Ms. Fill a 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan with a baking sheet then pour mixture into the pan. Lightly tap the mixture to fit the pan. BE CAREFUL, it is very easy to make rock hard treats, therefore do not press down the mixture just lightly place it, if there is any left over then get another pan and place it there or simply eat it from the bowl. Let treats sit in the pan until cool and then cut into squares and serve!

Happy Easter! Enjoy!
